BB Cream. What the heck is a BB Cream? . What is BB%^&*#@!

No worries, let me explain.

BB stands for a beauty balm. OK so I think its safe to state that this BB Craze started in Korea.





 In Asia, its a thing of beauty to have clear beautiful skin well we all want that don't we, but our Asian sisters are a bit more  obsessed with blemish free clear skin. Did I forget to mention BB creams are whitening too. So this BB cream craze did not hit North America until just recently. Now suddenly every makeup brand is coming out with its own BB cream.

Choices confuse people. Which one to get?. You have drugstore options and also high ends.

Why is it that BB creams are getting so popular. Well its because they  are very moisturizing, contain SPF, have acne fighting and anti-aging ingredients, plus conceal and lay a primer and a foundation for your other makeup creating a flawless finish. BB Cream eliminates from your daily routine a moisturizer , sunscreen so you don’t need an extra SPF product to protect your skin from harmful sun rays.

BB Creams contain active ingredients for fighting off problem areas. They contain anti-aging ingredients to prevent wrinkles and also treat any fine lines you may already have. BB Creams act as a concealer for concealing under eye circles and conceals acne, blemishes, red areas. BB Creams contain whitening agents to lighten the skin as mentioned earlier.

No wonder everyone is crazy for BB creams.

Unlike foundations BB creams do not have a lot of color choices. But as you apply the BB cream on your skin I find it blends fantastically so as long you have an idea that you are light, medium or deep I think you will do fine. I have tried a few of the drug mart BB options and have to confess that I did get turned off by them. It just felt like using a silicone layer on my skin. Did not feel like anything that will help my skin. So for me personally I would opt to splurge a little and chose a higher end option. So here are a few I really like and there is one which I have liked. So the good thing is BB creams are all SPF protected.

After all my research, I personally will opt for Clinique or Dior. I personally hated Smash Box tinted moisturizers so will not trust their BB creams but that is how I feel about it. For drugmart options if you want to just try out a BB cream, there are so many options. Marcelle, Maybelline are good options. So here are the two I will suggest:

If you are going on a vacation, and are looking for waterproof options, I would suggest Makeup Forever makes a wonderful water proof foundation. I personally feel for vacations BB creams will work best. This is not a heavy foundation at all, and its one stop for everything so even if you dip in the water and it washes off, you can still apply it after.
