Liberate dehydrated, thirsty, parched and dry skin. Au revoir to cakey face days. Allah Hafiz to sickly, unhealthy and crusty skin. Now your dreams will come true let me enlighten you girlies.
Let’s face it girls, no amount of makeup can hide skin which is rough, uneven and yearning for moisture. Unhealthy skin is visible even through any high end makeup. A glimpse of dehydrated skin is torture to look at.
Spare them eyes!
Prepping your skin before applying any sort of makeup on your face is essential. Assuming your face is a canvas cleanse, tone and moisturise it.
Tip: Chose a cleanser, toner and moisturiser according to your face type. There are 3 face types.
- Oily
- Dry
- Combination
Subsequent to the moisturising step, squirt a couple of sprays of a "SETTING SPRAY "on your entire face.
A setting spray is a dose of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of natural minerals. It adds radiance and a healthy glow to your skin. It also sets and finishes your makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!
I personally do not incorporate a setting spray in my everyday makeup routine. I will only use it sparingly in the day time if my skin needs extra dewiness, softness and moisture.
There are many setting sprays out there. I have a few favourites.
Let us begin with MAC Fix Plus.
The MAC Fix Plus is an aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. You can spray it on your exposed bare skin, or after makeup. Immediately you see a dewy, hydrated, glowy healthy skin. Spray it on a particular dry spot or area on your skin and it prevents your makeup from caking or giving your face a cakey look. I use this spray when I want a luminous, radiant skin. It makes your makeup last longer. I also spray my eyeshadow brush with MAC fix Plus and use it to wet my pigments or eye shadows. Using a wet brush to pick up eye shadow or eye pigments makes your eye shadows look more pigmented and vibrant. A bottle of fix plus is a must have in my makeup collection. MAC sells a travel size of the fix plus which is so cute and practical especially while travelling while the full size can be bulky.
Next on the list is what I prefer most of the times and it is the Urban Decay De Slick Spray.
Oily skin has met its match! Mist on this weightless spray to control oil, deflect surface shine and help makeup stay put.
I use this spray as a final step of my makeup routine only when I am going to an event. It prevents my makeup from getting oily and shiny. My makeup stays fresh for hours. It’s magic in a bottle guys.
Next on the list is the Urban Decay All Nighter.
I have also tried setting sprays from Clinique and Spa thermal water from Vichy.
I found these two sprays to be best to just spray on your face as a fresh up throughout the day especially in the summer time. Personally I do not use the Clinique and Vichy spray as a makeup setting spray.
So lastly the two I would recommend are:
1. MAC Fix Plus
2. Urban Decay De Slick
I hope you like this post. Do leave comments. Have a great weekend.
Love n hugs

Hi Jaz! Loving your posts! I'm not a big make up person myself, mostly using eye make up but do you find a big difference between the two urban decay products?
ReplyDeleteHi lovey
DeleteAs I mentioned my 2 fav setting sprays are MAC fix plus and urban decay de slick. I use de slick only when I am going out however for All other purposes mentioned above I prefer MAC fix plus far more than urban decay all nighter however if u have oily skin but looking for not too dewy looking spray get the urban decay all nighter. You have to see what u are looking for. If u do not wear too much makeup and only want a spray to help u look healthy and glowy get the MAC fix plus
I hope that helps
